The United States health care system is the most expensive in the world. It spends more than 16% of its gross domestic product (GDP) on health care, (the highest per person in the world), but ranks behind most countries on many measures of health outcomes, quality, and efficiency. In 2012, over 47 million people were un-insured and millions were under-insured⠁ ´. The cost of health care is rising at least twice as fast as the rate of economic growth. Major companies are passing more of the cost of health care to their employees. Many small businesses cannot provide health insurance to their employees. Individuals as well as companies are getting bankrupt due to the cost of health care.⠁ · According to the National Healthcare Quality Report (NHQR) one of the most significant contributing factor to poor quality of care for some of the core measures is health insurance ². Uninsured people are less likely to get recommended care for disease prevention ¹. Proponents of the ri ght to health care say that healthcare should be provided to everyone in the United States. Opponents argue that a right to health care imposes socialism and that it should be an individual s responsibility, not the government s role, to pay for health care⠁ ´.
